Assembly Overview

The Assembly is the Legislative Arm of the Elgeyo Marakwet County and draws its mandate and authority from the provisions of Article 185 of the Constitution.
County Assembly of Elgeyo Marakwet consists of 32 Hon Members, who include 20 Ward Representatives each elected by the registered voters of the wards, Twelve (12) members are nominated by the County Assembly political parties according to their proportional representation in the County Assembly to represent special interests including persons with disabilities, minorities, the youth, and...

Swearing In...

Inauguration and swearing-in to office the MCAs of the 3rd Assembly.The MCAs re-elected Hon. Kiplagat Sabulei as the Speaker of the County Assembly unopposed for a second term and deputized by Hon. Paul Kipyatich (Embobut/Embolot).

County projects Implementation Status

FY 2023/2024

The County Assembly has this morning debated on the report on Implementation status of County projects. The motion was moved by Hon. Gilbert Ngetich (Nominated MCA) and seconded by Hon. Justin Mutwol (MCA, Arror Ward).
The report points out on the failure of the county executive to implement projects approved in The Annual Development Plan whose funds were allocated through The County Appropriation Act.

Elgeyo-Marakwet County is one of Kenya's 47 counties and is located in the former Rift Valley Province. The largest town is Iten which also hosts the county headquarters. It borders the counties of West Pokot to the north, Baringo County to the east, southeast and south, Uasin Gishu to the southwest and west, and Trans Nzoia to the northwest.
